Personal Supports
At The Difference 2-17, we understand the importance of personal supports for individuals on the spectrum and those with neurological diversity.
Whether it's in their own apartment or in the family home, our team is ready to engage and bridge the gap between community service development delivery and personal support.
We believe in fostering independence, self-empowerment, community engagement, and confidence through individualized supports.
Our goal is to help each person live an independent or supported independent life by focusing on activities that bring them happiness.
We also promote basic self-help skills such as:
cooking
cleaning
bathing
housekeeping
shopping
visiting friends and family
dining in restaurants
participating in social events like festivals and concerts
enjoying walks in the park
meeting friends
going to the gym
and much more
Personal Supports are offered on a 1-1 basis and delivered by The Difference 2-17 staff, mornings, evenings and weekends.
Personal Supports Scheduled Events
We are dedicated to providing a wealth of information about our community and creating opportunities for members of The Difference 2-17 to engage and connect with one another, eliminating feelings of loneliness.
Weekly schedules are designed to offer a variety of events for members to participate in, including evening and weekend activities such as luxurious van limousine field trips to seasonal attractions and events.
Our goal is to foster connections among members and staff, allowing everyone to enjoy together the unique experiences our company has to offer. Evening activities include gatherings at local restaurants, classes, movies, and socializing at each other's homes.
Everyone feels valued for who they are.
The Difference 2-17 is a place where everyone feels valued for who they are. The participants connect to the support “staff” there because they truly feel their friendship. Beginning with Donna and Bayo, the atmosphere is positive, joyful and happy. So grateful for this group of wonderful people!
